If an :doc:`on_get_field_text ` event handler is assigned, **display_text** is the value returned by this event handler. Otherwise, display_text is the value of the :doc:`lookup_text ` property for :doc:`lookup fields ` and :doc:`text ` property converted according to the :doc:`language locale ` settings for other fields. ``Display_text`` is the string representation of the field's value property when it is not being edited. When the field is being edited, the :doc:`text ` property is used.
